APPLICANT: 1750 CENTRAL AVENUE PRIME STORAGE (MONUMNET SIGN) Mr. Timothy Prescott, a representative from AJ Signs, came before the Sign Review Board to request approval for Prime Storage’s new signage. Mr. Prescott stated the previous sign had been there for years, however the new owners wish to change the signage out front. The new owners wish to change the sign but keep the height of the sign. Mr. Prescott noted that the arguable hardship in this case would be the tree blocking the sign for traffic traveling East on Central Avenue. Mr. Prescott stated the new owners are looking to also keep the electrical for lighting purposes. Chairman Rubino stated that when a building changes owners, they must bring any changes up to code. The sign the new owners are looking for are not within Village Code. Chairman Rubino 1 Sign Review Board September 26, 2019 asked if this applicant had come before the Planning Commission for an ownership change. Attorney Caponera stated that because of the volume of ownership and tenant changes the Planning Commission reviews he does not recall this application at this time. Ms. Dickinson stated to the Board that the new sign is already up. Code Enforcement Officer Cerone stated that the structure has remained the same but the pylon has been replaced. Code Enforcement Officer Cerone stated to the board the applicant did not obtain a sign permit for the pylon change. Attorney Caponera stated to the applicant that the Sign Review Board does not accept hand written measurements, as presented in the application. Chairman Rubino stated the applicant will need to return with professionally drawn and stamped plans. Attorney Caponera stated the proposed sign should not be as big as it has been previously, as it must now come into conformance with the new owner. Mr. Michalski made a motion for the applicant to have the current new pylon sign up temporarily for 30 days. Mr. Levy seconded the motion. VOTE: All in favor of the motion. Mr. Prescott stated that if the new proposed sign is granted it would take him about 6 weeks to build. Mr. Prescott asked if the 30 day temporary sign allowance could be extended until the approved sign is ready. Chairman Rubino told the applicant that could be discussed in the future. DISCUSSION: A discussion was held regarding the potential upcoming sign application for the new Pioneer Bank building at 1770 Central Avenue. Mr. Michalski made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:00PM. Ms. Pochily seconded the motion. VOTE: All in favor to adjourn the meeting. Respectfully Submitted, Julianne M. Okun Asst.
