Mayor Tobin opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees at 6:37 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to approve Resolution 2021-98 “Authorize the Mayor to apply for and receive funding under the 2020 community development block grant (CDBG) coronavirus aid, relief and economic security act (CARES) program (CDBG-CV)” and thus authorizing the Clerk to advertise for a public hearing to be held on March 7, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. regarding such” Motion seconded by Trustee White. Deputy Mayor Sim thanked all the DPW worked for all their work lately and added we’ve had a lot of water breaks and ice/snow storms. He also mentioned that the firehouse responded to a house fire on Bridle Path last Thursday and did a great job in responding. Mayor Tobin mentioned he received a call from a resident on Stella Terrace praising our DPW for their work on the water break in that area and also the snow removal. Trustee White also added that DPW did a great job with the water breaks and snow and they also painting the senior center in preparation for the Centennial open house in May. Chief Kayser read aloud the January 2022 report. He also stated that they received a note of thanks from the West Albany Fire Department for the use of our holiday trailer. Chief Kayser thanked the Board for their consideration in letting them borrow the trailer, and also thanked DPW for preparing the trailer. The Mayor and Board thanked the present fire members and their committee for all their work on the new fire truck purchase and added it was a great job by all. Mayor Tobin thanked the committee adding it was a lot of hard work. Deputy Mayor Sim added that it was a lot to do in half the time it usually takes to plan such a purchase and there were a lot of difficult decisions to be made. Superintendent Decker mentioned that the DPW crews will be going out and trying to cut the snow curbs tighter and knock back some of the snowbanks. He said the ice made it tricky.
