Mayor Tobin opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Mayor Tobin Present Deputy Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Rubino Present Trustee White Present Village Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the public hearing held on December 20, 2021 regarding Resolution 2021-90 “Purchase of backhoe out of capital reserve funds – DPW equipment”, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee White to approve the minutes, as presented. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. Minutes of the public hearing held on December 20, 2021 regarding Resolution 2021-91 “Purchase of air packs out of capital reserve funds – fire equipment fund”, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Rubino to approve the minutes, as presented. Motion seconded by Trustee White. Minutes of the regularly scheduled board meeting that was held on December 20, 2021, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to approve the minutes. Trustee Lockart mentioned that the senior center will be doing take out lunches until January 18, 2022, due to the rise in COVID cases, just taking precautions with our senior population. She added that the seniors are about 70 lunches a day. She also mentioned that there is a planning commission meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m., and that Stewarts is opening on Wednesday, January 5th. Trustee Rubino wished everyone a happy new year. He also commended the DPW on the water main break on Sebring Avenue. Deputy Mayor Sim mentioned that we have a lot going on with our departments with COVID, but we seem to be over the initial surge and things are looking up. Trustee White wished everyone a happy and healthy new year. Mayor Tobin mentioned he is looking forward to a good coming year. He reminded everyone to be mindful of COVID as it is not going away any time soon. He added everyone is doing a good job being diligent with their mask wearing. Chief Kayser mentioned that the firehouse ended the year with 517 calls. He also mentioned that they recently had 5-7 active members out due to COVID, but that things seem to be back to normal, and that hopefully we won’t have another surge like that again. Superintendent Decker mentioned that they received the rebuilt packer body Sunday. By rebuilding the body, they were able to save ½ the cost of what it would have been to replace. He said they are looking into getting it lettered, and will be receiving quotes in the next few days, but the doors are marked for now. Mayor Tobin mentioned that the facility rentals started January 3rd.
