The following reports were submitted for June 2019: Senior Center Mayor Leak requested a moment of silence in remembrance of William Rogan, Trustee Sim’s grandson, whose 3rd birthday would have been today. Trustee Lockart mentioned she attended the benefit held by the Sim/Rogan family this past weekend to help other children with CHD, and it was a wonderful event. There were a lot of volunteers, including many of our employees, who helped out. There was about 200 people at the event. Trustee Tobin mentioned that the Planning Commission will be meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, and there are 5 items on the agenda. He also mentioned that on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, “Hey Jude” will be performing at the amphitheater at 6:30 p.m., and this will mark us for the half way point for the season. Trustee Lockart mentioned for the month of June 2019 the senior center had 1,235 attendees. They are having a good time there, and there are lots of activities. She also mentioned that many of the senior workers helped with the event for the Sim/Rogan family this past weekend. Attorney De Cotis stated he was working on obtaining an appraisal for the parcel on Jupiter Lane, that we are interested in selling. He spoke with Mr. Rowley’s office and received a name of a reputable appraiser. The appraisal will cost around $1,800, which is a fair price for such services. He will continue with the order. Mayor Leak asked how the appraisal is conducted, to which Attorney De Cotis said they will take comparable properties that have sold recently to establish a fair market value. Resident Laurie Ward of Rapple Drive was present to discuss the development of Milton Park. She noticed that there are pickleball courts being installed and was hoping to discuss the possibility of installing some updated playground equipment since there are many children, including her own who like to utilize the park. Mayor Leak said he will contact his superintendent and a meeting was set for Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. to further discuss this with the resident.
