Mayor Leak opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees with the Pledge of Allegiance, he also noted the exits. Roll Call: Mayor Leak Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Murphy Present Trustee Sim Present Trustee Tobin Present Attorney DeCotis Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting held on July 2, 2018 were reviewed by the present members of the Board. A motion was made by Trustee Sim to approve the minutes as written. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Sim Yes Mayor Leak Yes Motion passed. Minutes approved. Mr. Randy Rivera – Building Department – gave the Board a verbal update on Mia Lucci Pizza at 1647 Central Avenue. The business is currently closed down. They do not have an operating permit issued by the Health department. There is another existing court date schedule for August 23, 2018. There is tape around the entrance ramp to the building. Mayor Leak asked Mr. Rivera to have this tape removed. He said he would. Trustee Tobin – informed the Board of the Tuesday Night in the Park possibility of the Recreation Center being used due to the storms predicted. New York Players are scheduled. Trustee Sim – reported on the DPW working hard during this heat spell. The hours are changed only the extremely hot days. Attorney Decotis – reported on the National Grid e-mail he received from Mr. James Kline. Apparently the Village of Colonie is part of a Pilot Program for LED lights along Central Avenue. This project was to begin today. National Grid informed him that there is an equipment delay and the start date has not been established Mayor Leak stated that even though the cost of the LED lights would be cheaper to run, the safety of the residents at night is most important. Mayor Leak recognize Chief Keyser to speak Chief Keyser discussed the following: Boot Drive on the 31st of July AT Cook Park. In order to cut down on energy consumption, the fire company would like to have an electrician adjust the timer on the bank of lights inside the truck bays. DPW Superintendent Les Decker thanked the Mayor for allowing the crews to go home early during the heat spells. They certainly appreciated the consideration. Visitors M. David Wetzel – administrator for the South Colonie Schools thanked the Mayor and Board for the use of the Recreation Center and the Outreach building for schooling for the many students in the Alternative Program. These students would not have graduated if it were not for this opportunity. In this year, 94% of the students graduated. It is evident that this teamwork in working for the youth of our community. Mayor Leak thanked the wonderful teachers (many present) for their efforts and work with the youth. Mr. Joh Buhner – Thanked the Mayor and Board for their ongoing support for this so important school. The success rate is very high and this is one of the factors that make it so possible. A special thank you to Mr. Brian Casey also for his help and support. Trustee Sim – mentioned that the one person who is 120% behind this program with his leadership and support is Mayor Leak. It is his can do – will do attitude. Abstract #3 Breakdown General: $66,579.12 Seniors: $3,583.85 Rec. Donations: $278.44 Water: $17,747.76 Sewer: $20,452.46 Grand Total: $108,461.63 Trustee Murphy made a motion to adjourn he meeting Trustee Tobin seconded he motion.
