Mayor Tobin opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Mayor Tobin Present Deputy Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Rubino Present Trustee White Present Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled board meeting that was held on July 5, 2022, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee White to approve the minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. A motion was made by Trustee Rubino to approve Resolution 2022-44 “Authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with J & M Schwarz for the 2022-2023 commercial service contract for heating and cooling”. Motion seconded by Trustee White. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Abstain Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. The Clerk mentioned that we received an award from PERMA for submitting out workers compensation claims in a timely manner. The Clerk presented a peddlers permit request from Molly Chitty to the board for vote. The Clerk stated that she believed this was a door-to-door solicitation of educational products, which the Village does not allow door-to-door solicitation and would therefore recommend denying the request. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to deny the peddlers permit request. Motion seconded by Trustee White. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. Deputy Mayor Sim mentioned the Centennial Picnic-Family Fun Day was a great success. He thanked Carl and the recreation department and all the other employees who helped. The board echoed the success and thanks of the event. Trustee White added that the weather was great and there was a wonderful turnout of people. Mayor Tobin added that it was nice the police were there, many bounce house and a band. Trustee Lockart mentioned that the band was a nice touch. Mayor Tobin mentioned that the next Centennial event is going to be the Mayor’s 5K run/walk. Trustee Lockart also mentioned we have the ice cream social, parade and dinner to look forward to. Resident Wayne Smith, 28 Tanglewood Road, to discuss a water/drainage issue on his street/driveway. He mentioned that when the street was repaved there was some issues that came of that, and there are some left over chunks of pavement in front of his property that didn’t get sifted out like the rest of the street. He mentioned that his neighbors driveways are all higher than his and creating some drainage issues. He said he spoke to someone a few months back and wanted to just follow up. The resident of 30 Tanglewood Road, Mark Reardon, was also present regarding a similar issue. Deputy Mayor Sim mentioned to Mr. Reardon, he was supposed to have his driveway re-paved and the belly removed, to which he said that had not been done yet. Mr. Reardon said he had a conversation with the superintendent and he was going to talk to the Mayor about the crown and possibly re-doing the apron. Deputy Mayor Sim stated that we will not be paving driveways. He said we can sift in front of 28 Tanglewood Road and have our engineer look at the issues. Clerk Blot took down the information for both residents. Resident Judy Tarullo, 18 Tull Drive, was also present asking when Tull Drive was going to get paved. She stated that the road has many pot holes. Deputy Mayor Sim said we would note her concerns. She also asked about having speed humps out in to ward off speeders, to which Deputy Mayor Sim said in order to start that process she would need a petition signed by 60% of the residents on her street that they would like to pursue speed humps being installed.
