Mayor Sim opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance, he also noted the exits. Roll Call: Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Murphy Present Trustee Tobin Present Attorney De Cotis Present Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled board meeting that was held on February 18, 2020 were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Murphy to approve the minutes, as presented. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Tobin Yes Mayor Sim Yes Motion passed. Minutes approved. Minutes of grievance night that was held on February 18, 2020 were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to approve the minutes, as presented. Motion seconded by Trustee Murphy. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Tobin Yes Mayor Sim Yes Motion passed. Minutes approved. Clerk Blot informed the board that a public notice has been posted with the Times Union, and in the 6 public access buildings listing the date, time, place of the Village Election. This notice also lists the names of the nominated candidates and their addresses, as well as an abstract of the proposition. The Clerk presented a peddler’s permit application for Mr. Ding-a-Ling for the 2020 season. A motion was made by Trustee Murphy to approve the application with the restriction of no soliciting during the amphitheater dates for the 2020 season. Motion seconded by Trustee Tobin. The following reports were submitted for February 2020: -Outreach Department -Code Enforcement/Fire Inspections -Building Department -Fire Department -Senior Center -Recreation Center Clerk Blot recognized the department of public works employees who have been assisting with the Village Hall renovations thus far, Chris Bisognano, Vince Boice, Gus Hufland and AJ Garrow. Mayor Sim informed all that the Board presented Mayor Leak with the proclamation from the last board meeting and that Mayor Leak was very thankful and pleased with the recognition. Mayor Sim mentioned that there was a fire over the weekend at 21 Barker Street. He added the house was saved and asked Chief Kayser to elaborate on the situation, to which the Chief gave a brief update. He added that lives were saved because of smoke detectors. He also recognized the following firefighters during this situation, Keith Fogg, Frank Cuoccio and Chris VanBuskirk. Mayor Sim asked the Chief to pass on a thank you from the board. Trustee Tobin mentioned that the amphitheater sponsor letters will be going out shortly. Chief Kayser read aloud the February 2020 fire report. He also stated the Life Reach pamphlets are complete and that he will be at the 10:00 a.m. Senior meeting to do a brief overview of the program. Superintendent Decker stated he went to visit the Mayor with Clerk Blot and it was good to see him and that he is in good spirits.
