Mr. Lashoff made a motion to approve the minutes as presented, and Mr. Lemperle seconded this motion. Vote: All in favor. OLD BUSINESS: Chairman France explained the results of the traffic study that was conducted in the Red Fox Drive and Barker Street intersection. This study was completed for the ongoing discussion of speeding on Red Fox Drive. He stated that the counters went out in the area of 23 and 45 Red Fox Drive, and then on Barker Street the following week. He stated that volume on Red Fox Drive has decreased compared to the previous three studies, and speeds are fluctuating on average from 23-27 miles per hour. He offered that the addition of the driver feedback sign and intersection sign within the last year may have helped to reduce the average speeds. He suggested moving the feedback sign closer to the Barker Street intersection. Liaison Prevratil agreed that an engineering study is likely not warranted. Chairman France added that while Barker Street is busy, the speeds are not super high, and a 4-way stop is not warranted. He spoke Page 1 of 2 to the resident that requested further investigation be made, and she was pleased that this was investigated. DISCUSSION: A discussion was held regarding Family Fun Day, which is taking place at Cook Park on June 8th. Mr. Gillivan stated that he met with Katie and found a flyer for a previous bike rodeo. He added that Katie mentioned the Pine Bush and the Department of Health would be present. He stated that in order to run the bike rodeo, he would need volunteers to complete tasks such as registering kids and sizing them for helmets. Liaison Prevratil added that he was going to try to obtain $25 gift certificates from Delmonico’s to go along with the traffic committee’s “Drive 25” campaign. Family Fun Day is Saturday, June 8th, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m, with set up beginning around 11 a.m. Mr. Lashoff requested that the traffic counts be taken on Sand Creek Road, and Chairman France stated that it would be next on his list. Trustee Stevens was present in the audience and requested that the Red Fox Drive and Barker Street intersection be restudied once Chipotle opens on the corner. He is interested in seeing how the project would affect the traffic patterns. Mayor Rubino was also present in the audience and wanted to introduce himself to the committee. He thanked everyone for all of their hard work and ensured them that the committee has his full support. Investigator Curran was not present, but Mr. Lashoff requested that, if possible, he could present a report of monthly accidents occurring in the Village boundaries. A motion was made by Mr. Dombroski to adjourn the meeting at 7:03 p.m. This motion was seconded by Mr. Lashoff. Vote: All in favor. Respectfully submitted, Hannah Curran Traffic Advisory Committee Coordinator Village of Colonie Page 2 of 2
