BLOT www.colonievillage.org VILLAGE CLERK VILLAGE OF COLONIE ALBANY COUNTY, NEW YORK NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Village of Colonie will hold a public hearing on March 7, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 2 Thunder Road Albany, NY 12205 for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Village of Colonie’s community development needs, and to discuss the possible submission of one or more Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) CARES applications for the 2020 program year. New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is administering over $127 Million in CDBG- CV funding and will make funds available to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG- CV program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of the proposed grant application and/or to provide technical assistance to develop alternate proposals. The proposed grant application may request up to approximately $2 million in 2020 CDBG-CV funding to address vital and immediate needs and to prepare for future pandemic events, the Village proposes very important projects: HVAC and Touchless access/fixture upgrades for the Senior Community Center. Comments on the CDBG-CV program or proposed project(s) will be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. Assistance under the Community Development Block Grant Program must meet one of three national objectives: benefit to low and moderate-income persons, elimination of slums and blight or urgent needs affecting the health and safety of the community. No less than seventy percent (70%) of grant funds must be used for activities benefiting low and moderate-income persons and the benefit area must contain at least fifty-one percent (51%) low- and moderate-income residents. All interested persons are strongly encouraged to attend this public hearing and will be given an opportunity to be heard.
