Chief Kayser stated that on Friday, January 20th, Colonie Fire Company responded to 4 working structure fires, with one involving a fatality. Over the last exceptionally cold weekend, they responded to 7 calls on Friday, totaling 11 for the weekend. Mark Reardon, resident from Tanglewood Road, was present to discuss concerns with a neighbor located at 37 Tanglewood Road. He stated that he contacted Code Enforcement about a month ago regarding a potential car business that is being run out of the home. After speaking with Code Enforcement, it appeared that the business stopped for a few days, but then unfortunately continued. It seems that new cars are being dropped off by a tractor trailer without plates, and then dealer plates are placed on the cars so individuals can test drive them on Tanglewood Road. Wayne Smith and his son, both residents of Tanglewood Road, were also present to speak on the issue. They asked the Board if there’s a parking ordinance, to which Deputy Mayor Sim replied that if cars are parked on the road, they must be parked in the same direction of traffic flow, according to the Vehicle and Traffic Law. Mr. Smith replied that these cars are parking in all kinds of directions, including in front of fire hydrants and on the lawn of 37 Tanglewood Road. Both Mr. Reardon and Mr. Smith stated that they have photographs supporting these concerns. The Board let the residents of Tanglewood Road know that they would pass these concerns along to Code Enforcement, and Steve Meservey would reach out to Mr. Reardon this week.
