The meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees was held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 2 Thunder Road, Albany, NY 12205. Mayor Tobin opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: Mayor Tobin Present Deputy Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Rubino Present Trustee White Present Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled Board meeting that was held on May 15, 2023, were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to approve the minutes. Motion seconded by Trustee Rubino. Vote: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. Clerk Blot read aloud Resolution 2023-30 “Payroll adjustment for fiscal year increases”. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to approve Resolution 2023-30. Motion seconded by Trustee White. Vote: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee White Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. Trustee Rubino mentioned he was looking forward to Summer. Deputy Mayor Sim mentioned that the new trackless was our front for the board to look at after the meeting. He said they will be auctioning off the oldest trackless which is now in the yard, and basically is only good for parts. He also mentioned that all the proposed streets are paved with the exception of Jupiter Lane. Mayor Tobin mentioned that the 2023 concert series begins next Tuesday, June 13th with the Lustre Kings, 6:30 p.m. at Cook Park. Trustee White added the streets look good and he complimented the newly planted flowers in the Village. Chief Kayser mentioned that the Fire Department had 54 calls for the month of May. He read aloud the May 2023 report. He said the department has responded to several brush fires recently. The department has been very busy. Chief said that on April 21st they did an outreach program at the High School, and from it they had 2 18-year-olds sign up to volunteer and they also had 3 other junior applications submitted. He said they plan to do their bigger open house in the fall time, as the one planned for June has been postponed. He also said he was asked to have apparatus at family fun day, which he is currently looking for volunteers for. Trustee Rubino asked if the adolescent volunteers get college credits for their fire services, to which the Chief said they currently don’t but that he’s had prior discussions in the past with BOCES to look into this. The Chief said it’s important to reach the 16- and 17-year-olds for enrollment. Superintendent Decker stated that the DPW will be working extended hours for the rest of the week catching up on some things, mainly storm drain clean-ups. It was mentioned that family fun day is this Saturday, Mayor Tobin asked Superintendent Decker to contact Katie to see what assistance is needed.
