BLOT www.colonievillage.org VILLAGE CLERK MINUTES MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2024 6:30 P.M. The meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees was held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 2 Thunder Road, Albany, NY 12205. Mayor Tobin opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: Mayor Tobin Present Deputy Mayor Sim Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Rubino Present Trustee Prevratil Present Clerk Blot Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled Board meeting that was held on February 20, 2024, were reviewed by the members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to approve the minutes. This motion was seconded by Trustee Rubino. Vote: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Rubino Yes Trustee Prevratil Yes Deputy Mayor Sim Yes Mayor Tobin Yes Motion passed. Chief Kayser read aloud the February 2024 fire report. Chief Kayser also thanked all the departments: DPW, Village Hall and Recreation Center for their help this past weekend with the services for past Chief Stevens. He also thanked all who attended the services. A presentation of the final draft of the Sand Creek Road study was conducted by MJ Engineering. This Sand Creek Road Feasibility Study began about a year ago. Lisa Wallin and Megan Bacon on MJ Engineering took turns presenting the materials. Jacob Beeman of CDTC was also present. The report addressed issues such as speed, traffic not yielding to pedestrians and a lack of crosswalks. Lisa added that the website will be live for a while in case anyone wants to access it. Megan added that she believes it’s accessible until February of 2025. Lisa encouraged all to read through chapter 7 of the report which further addresses the implementation options. Lisa mentioned that a lot of people were in favor of the improvement options but want to be involved with the implementation. Deputy Mayor Sim thanked Lisa, Megan and Jacob for all their hard work over the last year. He added that a lot of hard work was put in by many people and it is a great stepping off point. He said the report is great and it is needed for funding. Trustee Rubino said it was a well thought out project and thanked all for their hard work. Mayor Tobin thanked everyone and said that this is the future to make that area more useful to the people who use this road and live there. Trustee Prevratil added that these issues go back many years and there’s been advancements and growth in that area. No further comments were made about the report or the presentation. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to approve the final report, as presented. Motion seconded by Trustee Rubino. Trustee Rubino mentioned that as the fire Chief reported earlier regarding the services for Chief Steves, he was proud of the fire department and our other departments that helped. Deputy Mayor Sim shared the same regard, and added that there were a lot of moving parts to that and it made all proud. Trustee Prevratil echoed the sentiment. Trustee Prevratil also added that this is his first meeting back since his accident and thanked everyone for their well wishes. Mayor Tobin agreed with everyone on the services for Chief Stevens and added that this is what makes the Village the Village. Clerk Blot added that we are a great team.
