Roll Call: Mayor Leak Present Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Murphy Present Trustee Sim Present Trustee Tobin Present Attorney DeCotis Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting held on September 4, 2018 were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Murphy to approve the minutes, as written. Motion seconded by Trustee Tobin. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Sim Yes Trustee Tobin Yes Mayor Leak Yes Motion passed. Minutes approved. The Clerk read aloud a memorandum regarding the request to rescind the award of the Uniform Contract for the 2018-2021 contract period, since the bid received from UniFirst was lacking a signed non-discrimination statement. A motion was made by Trustee Murphy to rescind the bid approval for uniform services. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Sim Yes Trustee Tobin Yes Mayor Leak Yes Motion passed. The Clerk requested authorization to advertise for sealed bids for the uniform contract services for the 2018-2021 period. Awards will be accepted by Friday, September 28, 2018 10:00 a.m., at which time all bids presented will be opened and read aloud. Bid opening will take place at Village Hall in the Trustees room. A motion to authorize the Clerk to advertise for said bids was made by Trustee Tobin. Motion seconded by Trustee Lockart. Clerk Blot mentioned that Julianne Okun will be back from her maternity leave on October 4, 2018. She added that she wishes to recognize Alexandra Hart for not only maintaining her job, but also filling in for Julianne with the daily deposits, mail and covering Julianne’s boards/commissions while she was out. She stated that Alexandra has done a wonderful job keeping things in order so we aren’t falling behind. She also recognized the office as a whole and said everyone is doing a wonderful job. The following reports were submitted: August 2018 Outreach Report August 2018 Fire Inspection Report August 2018 Building Department Report Trustee Lockart elaborated to say that the Outreach Center helped 30+ people in need during the month of August. Some of the issues being dealt with are mental assistance, housing, heap, drug and/or alcohol abuse etc. She added that the outreach workers also attended various village functions to lend a helping hand. Trustee Lockart also mentioned that the senior center will be closed Monday, September 26, 2018, the seniors will be operating out of the Cook Park, the kids are putting on a play “The Wizard of Oz” for the seniors and lunch will be served at the park. Mayor Leak asked Superintendent Decker to get ahold of Ron Coy to see the time frame for the repair of the BBQ pit in Cook Park. Superintendent said he would get ahold of Mr. Coy and added that the rehab should be relatively quick. Mayor Leak also asked the Superintendent to check on the status of when the rest of the trees that needed to be removed would be taken care of. Planning Commission Chair Chris Dennis was present and stated that the Planning Commission is going nicely. He hopes that Wendy’s will be back before the commission to further discuss the plans for demolition of the damaged building. He added that the owner, Mr. Rosetti is working with the commission to rearrange the drive-up que for a more easy functionality. Mr. Dennis added that he has no further information on the on-going case for Mia Lucci’s Pizzeria. Attorney De Cotis mentioned he is working on the contract for BOCES. He also mentioned he has e-mailed Mr. Bolough with RPI to check the status of the street lighting project for Central Avenue, and is awaiting a response. He added that he is working with Code Enforcement Officer Cerone on issues with property located at 5 Broderick Street. Mr. Cerone said he has the paperwork and is ready to pursue. Mayor Leak asked if the house contained asbestos. Mr. Cerone said that the property would need to be looked at to determine if asbestos abatement was needed. Attorney De Cotis stated that the case with Fermac Street was going to be started over. Mr. Cerone went this week and took pictures of the property. Mr. Dennis informed the board that he just received word that Wendy’s would be coming to the next planning meeting. Abstract # 7 Breakdown General: $ 100,297.44 Seniors: $ 2,058.84 Water: $ 15,303.63 Sewer: $ 21,166.22 Total: $ 138,826.13 A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to adjourn the meeting.
