The Clerk requested authorization to advertise for a public hearing for Resolution #2021-65 “Transfer of funds into capital reserve funds”, to be held on September 20, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Sim to authorize the Clerk to advertise, as stated above. The Clerk requested authorization to advertise for sealed bids for a 2022 GMC 2500 truck. Bids to be submitted Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Village Hall, 2 Thunder Road, Albany, NY 12205. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to authorize the Clerk to authorize for the bids. Mayor Tobin mentioned that he had a discussion with Town Supervisor Paula Mahan regarding a ceremony for the Little League, to be held at the Town of Colonie on September 30th, at which time the Village of Colonie will present a proclamation to the Little League. Mayor Tobin said he would confirm the date and time and report back to the Board. Page 4 of 6 Mayor Tobin mentioned that the use of masks in the public buildings is coming back. The Town of Colonie has implemented the use of masks for any visitors to their buildings, and he would like to follow their policy. A discussion was held. Mayor Tobin stated effective September 8, 2021, all visitors to all Village facilities will be asked to wear a facial covering until further notice, this includes our senior center. The Mayor asked the Clerk to have a statement posted on our facebook page and website and to also have masks available at public meetings. Chief Kayser informed the Mayor and Board that the fire department canceled the October 2021 fire prevention open house due to the COVID Delta variant. They plan to wait, and do something in May of 2022, when the weather gets warmer. Deputy Mayor Sim asked the Chief to check with President Coy on the status of the Annual Turkey Raffle, to see if the company planned to still hold that event. Christina Secor mentioned that Stanford Heights did a virtual event last year, so that could be something to look into if the event isn’t able to take place this year. Mayor Tobin mentioned that he, Deputy Mayor Sim and Trustee Lockart visited the Outreach building and that it needs to be properly cleaned out and organized. He asked that no one use the facility until further notice. He also asked all the other board members to go to the facility to look at it. Chief Kayser read aloud the fire report for August 2021. He mentioned that the fire department assisted in a trench rescue in august, and also responded to 2 fatal calls. Chief Kayser also mentioned some concerns he had regarding the new storage facility located at 1653 Central Avenue, to which Code Officer Meservey said he is working with the owner to address the signage at the curb and some of the other items the chief had concern with. Code Officer Meservey added that the plans for the building were stamped, engineered plans and had to comply with the fire code. Superintendent Decker gave an update on the 2021 blacktop/paving project for Sebring Avenue, Hartwood Street and Stirrup Drive (Locust Park to Tattersall Lane). He mentioned that the paver is just tying up some loose ends. Clerk Blot mentioned that she received the invoice for the paving project and asked Superintendent Decker for clearance once project is complete to satisfaction so that she can process payment. Deputy Mayor Sim asked Superintendent Decker to follow up on new recycling truck.
