Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting that was held on May 12, 2022, were reviewed and amended. Mr. Samiof made a motion to approve the minutes. Mr. Judge seconded the motion. VOTE: All in favor of the motion. Chairman Prevratil asked Coordinator Douglas if any residents have reached out with any concerns for the committee. Coordinator Douglas stated that a resident named Ms. Smith at 22 Lincoln Ave called to discuss large trucks parking at the corner of Harriet St when doing work on Lincoln Ave. She wanted to know if it was possible to put a “No Parking” sign up. Coordinator Douglas let the resident know that our next Traffic Meeting Committee was tonight at 6:30pm and she was welcome to join and discuss her issue. Chairman Prevratil stated that unfortunately it is a Village street and parking is allowed on the street. Another resident from Woolard Ave, Ms. Angier, called to complain about the tractor trailers that drive down Harriet St and Woolard Ave. Liaison Sim did send all the information off to Officer DePaulo. Chairman Prevratil stated that Officer DePaulo has pulled over numerous vehicles in this area. He stated that Mrs. Angier is doing the right thing by contacting us. We do take action and are working with Police when this happens. Chairman Prevratil also mentioned that the pictures Mrs. Angier sent were helpful. Liaison Sim agreed and stated that he has been working with Google Earth to address the weight limit restrictions on these streets. Chairman Prevratil mentioned that this is a well-traveled area but we have a great Police department and will keep plugging away. Mr. Judge suggested road sign paintings on Village streets, some look like speeds bumps, stop signs, etc. Mr. Gillivan announced that the Ride of Silence that was help on May 18th went well. Safety Office Curran and another officer escorted the cyclists from Pine Grove church to Lincoln Ave. Approximately 35 people attended the pre-ride ceremony and 20 people participated in the ride. There is now a bike mounted on the fence where the cyclist was killed on Central Ave. Commissioner Gillivan will check with DOT to be sure the bike is allowed there. Mr. Lashoff asked if it was possible to make a brochure or flyer that showed the different events the Village would be having this year. He mentioned handing them out at the Concerts in the Park on Tuesday’s. Liaison Sim stated that he would make an announcement at each concert so residents were aware. Liaison Sim received an email from DOT with information that would help our “Drive Safe” campaign. Obey the Law flyers and others. He has been working with a DOT regional engineer for the campaign. They do not have a date to meet yet but he did get an email back from the today. Coordinator Douglas will look into getting some of these DOT materials delivered so they can be handed out at different events. Liaison Sim mentioned that we are still waiting for the new solar signs that were ordered. We know they are in transit but do not have any further information. Liaison Sim stated that they had a kickoff meeting with the CDTC on the Sand Creek Rd study yesterday. They will need to select a consultant (who will run the study). There will be focus groups for involvement (pedestrians, cyclists, Traffic Committee, etc). There will also be public meetings and smaller group meetings. The study is comprehensive and will take time, it is projected to be complete around this time next year. Mr. Lashoff stated that there have been many traffic back ups at the light on Central Ave near Dunkin’ Donuts. Page 2 of 3 Chairman Prevratil also mentioned that many cars have been speeding on Tanglewood Rd since it has been paved.
