Roll Call: Chairman, Frank Prevratil Dan Hornick John Gillivan (Absent) George Lashoff Les Samiof Liaison Sim Dan Judge CPD Liaison Officer DePaulo (Absent) Kevin France Coordinator Douglas Honor Morlock Chairman Prevratil opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting that was held on June 09, 2022, were reviewed and amended. Mr. Samiof made a motion to approve the minutes. Mr. Judge seconded the motion. Mr. Hornick did not vote as he was absent VOTE: All in favor of the motion. Coordinator Douglas introduced Honor Morlock as the new Coordinator for Traffic Committee Chairman Prevratil asked Coordinator Morlock if any residents have reached out with any concerns for the committee. Coordinator Morlock stated that resident Dorothy Zimmerman 13 Sharon Dr would like something more done besides the stop sign, On Sharon and Tanglewood as cars are not stopping at stop sign. Debra Connell of 22 Lincoln stated that there are speeders on Lincoln and that it is getting worse. There are also motorcycles racing down the street between 10:30-11:00pm almost every night. Mr. Judge stated that he took photos of Rapple Dr. The house on the corner wants a four-way stop sign to put up. Liaison Sim stated that we discourage 4 way stop signs Mr. Judge stated that we can talk about it at the next meeting when the resident will be able to attend. Mr. Judge asked if DPW can put down painted stop lines? Liaison Sim wants to put a counter on Rapple Rd. Mr. France asked about speed bumps? Mr. Samiof stated that he spent 45 minutes On Wednesday night and 45 minutes on Thursday morning on Gail Ave and saw no speeders. Mr. Samiof stated that he spoke to a lady that was outside of her house and she said that there are not so much as speeders but not stopping at the stop signs. Chairman Prevratil stated that you see people all over the place not stopping and most of them live there. Mr. Samiof stated that his son-in-law and daughter, see a Mercedes speeding and they will try to get a plate number. Mr. Judge mentioned he spoke to Lindsey Minnuck, she lived in the Village before moving to Niskayuna. She explained to Mr. Judge that she thinks there is a major problem with the way the traffic flows there and wanted some pointers of what she can take to the board in Niskayuna. She said that the Village is doing a great job since the Drive 25 Campaign. Mr. Samiof stated that Mr. Rowinski from the Zoning board said that he has a pick-up truck that is going to be in the parade and wanted to know if anyone would like to ride in it. Liaison Sim said to message the mayor’s office. Coordinator Douglas asked if we get any complaints from residents, we let them know when the meetings are and ask if they have any information on the cars so we can send the information to our contact at Colonie Police do we tell them we can do strips. Liaison Sim persuade them from stop signs, we can try to use reflective tape. Mr. Hornick asked how many message boards do we have? Liaison Sim, none Mr. Hornick how many speed trailers? Liaison Sim 1. Liaison Sim stated that the solar speed signs have been ordered and Mr. Decker from DPW calls every week to check the status of them, Mr. Decker said he can see that they have some of the orders have been cancelled but ours are still in transit. Liaison Sim stated that we will put 2 solar speed signs on Locust St, and 2 on Lincoln. Chairman Prevratil, we will do our best to put strips down, Page 2 of 3 Liaison Sim, Paving on Locust St looks great. We did not widen the road. Pedestrians and bicyclist need 5 feet, so we made 11 feet lanes to slow vehicles. There is more room for the pedestrians and bicyclist. I have seen more people walking now. Chairman Prevratil Kudos to the Village. Mr. Judge stated that business might be ok with putting signs up when school starts. Mr. Lashoff and Mr. Judge are willing to talk to the businesses. Mr. Judge we need 25 more frames for signs, Liaison Sim, the parade will start in the Industrial Park onto Walker Way, it will go down the 2 East bound lanes. Colonie police will be there to direct the traffic. The road will be closed from 12 noon to about 2:30pm. Chairman Prevratil read the E-mail from Mr. Gillivan. Chairman Prevratil likes the fact that we put helmets on over 30 kids. Mr. Hornick said that the number would have been higher if we had more helmets. Chairman Prevratil stated that if we put the word out earlier for the next event maybe business will be willing to donate money to purchase more helmets. Mr. Judge stated that CAPCOM is always willing to help the community, they are generous. Liaison Sim, I wan to give a huge thank you to Coordinator Douglas for all that she has done and getting the flyers. Coordinator Douglas was able to get them for free.
