Deputy Mayor Sim opened the meeting of the Mayor and Board of Trustees with the Pledge of Allegiance, he also noted the exits. Roll Call: Mayor Leak Absent Trustee Lockart Present Trustee Murphy Present Trustee Sim Present Trustee Tobin Present Attorney DeCotis Present Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting held on April 16, 2018 were reviewed by the present members of the board. A motion was made by Trustee Lockart to approve the minutes, as written. Motion seconded by Trustee Murphy. VOTE: Trustee Lockart Yes Trustee Murphy Yes Trustee Sim Yes Trustee Tobin Yes All in favor to approve the regular minutes from April 16, 2018 A request was made to vote on Resolution # 19 of 2018 entitled “Payroll Adjustments for New Rates.” Deputy Mayor Sim stated that the first payroll in June has one day, May 31st, included in it and we are being asked to call in the first payroll in June at the new rates, rather than making calculation for one day at the old rates. There was no further discussion. Trustee Murphy made a motion to approve. Trustee Lockart seconded the motion. REPORTS: Deputy Clerk Hart stated that the following reports from April 2018 were submitted into the meeting packet: Fire Inspection Report Building Department Report Fire Department Call Report Trustee Murphy did not have anything to report. Trustee Tobin stated that the summer concert schedule is all set. Trustee Lockart stated that in the meeting packet is a report from the Senior Center. The Center is now keeping track of all people coming into the center, as well as tracking the amount of Village and Town residents. There was a total of 1,628 people coming into the center in April. The Center is working hard to recruit more seniors. In April there was a total of 847 Village residents and 647 Town residents visiting the center. Attorney DeCotis informed the Board of a neighbor dispute matter regarding property lines and a fence. Attorney DeCotis stated that he informed the residents that the Village does not get involved in neighbor disputes and suggested a survey of the properties be conducted. Attorney DeCotis stated that he has not heard anything regarding the status of the street light project on Central Ave. Deputy Mayor Sim stated that this upcoming Saturday, May 12th is a Bike Rodeo. The Bike Rodeo will be on the tennis courts in Locust Park from 10 am – Noon. The Rodeo is to promote bike safety as well as fix it stations. The Village will be giving out helmets and 2 bikes will be donated by Colonie PBA and Colonie Fire Company. Deputy Mayor Sim asked Fire Chief Jeff Kayser to put the information up on the fire house sign. Chief Kayser stated that he would pass the information along to the member who updates the sign. Code Enforcement Officer Randy Rivera stated that all Board members received a copy of the MS4 report for 2017-2018. The report must be to the State by June 1. Mr. Rivera stated that there will also be a small section about storm water management in the Villager to inform residents on the topic, which Mr. Rivera think will be beneficial. DPW Superintendent Les Decker stated that hydrant flushing is now over. The new Cook Park playground is nearing completion, with a few projects like the sand ox being done this week. Mr. Decker stated that the first heavy item pick up went well, with a small hiccup of residents placing TV’s out. The Village can no longer accept TVs. Village Resident Bill Fahy come to show the Board pictures of the fairy door he recently installed in Cook Park. He stated that the door looks great and he can’t wait for the little kids to find it. The fairy door was sponsored by the Senior Center club. Mr. Decker gave an update on a DPW employee who will is out and is in need of surgery. The Board wishes him a speedy recovery. Fire Chief Kayser thanked Mr. Decker and the DPW staff who have helped perform maintenance on several firehouse vehicles and trucks over the past few weeks. He states that the hopes to continue sending the vehicles down to Paul in the shop instead of have the vehicles service elsewhere. Trustee Murphy made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
