Houses Proposed in Colonie

Houses Proposed in Colonie

A public hearing was held before the Town Board of the Town of Colonie on a housing development proposed for 8 Lupe Way. This 35 acre site is located in the northwestern section of the Pine Bush and is a link to the Pine Bush ecosystem in Schenectady County.

The land is currently zoned industrial, and the developer is seeking a zoning change to residential. About 40 houses or so are proposed, though no plat plans have been completed by the developer.

This proposed development is an extension of several other housing developments in this area. Save the Pine Bush believes that this site should be preserved in its entirety. At least one more meeting will be held about this development.

To oppose the re-zoning, people should write to The Honorable Mary E. Brizzell, Town Supervisor, Town of colonie Memorial Town Hall, Newtonville, NY 12128. To volunteer to attend more hearings, please call Lynne Jackson at 434-1954 or email pinebush@aol.com.
