ALBANY, NY — Members of Save the Pine Bush, Sierra Club, and residents of Avila, retirement community, support the resolution being introduced by the Honorable Dominick Calsolaro to dedicate the Fox Run Estate Mobile Home Park to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. The City of Albany was required to dedicate this land to the Preserve by the Department of Environmental Conservation.
The administration of the City of Albany has proposed to expand the landfill on this property.
Dedicating this land to the Preserve would make it almost impossible for the city to expand the landfill onto this property.
We invite you to a press conference at 6:30 PM on the steps of Albany City Hall, one half hour prior to the Common Council meeting.
Speakers will include The Honorable Dominick Calsolaro, member of the Common Council, Lynne Jackson of Save the Pine Bush, Pete Sheehan of Sierra Club and a representative of Avila residents.
