Democracy Survives – Just Barely Once Again

Democracy Survives – Just Barely Once Again   Democracy Survives Just Barely Once Again By Daniel Van Riper The solidly right-wing Democratic Party, demoralized and mostly ignored by large corporations, managed with the help of the voters to overcome and shake the extreme right-wing Republican Party this past November 3rd. Only their vast ocean of money and virtual control of the corporate media kept the Republicans from being swept off the political map. Here is an overview of the elections…

Historic Rapp Road Community— An Update

We continually remember before Our GOD and Father Your Work produced by Faith Your Labor prompted by Love, and Your Endurance Inspired by Hope in Our LORD JESUS CHRIST. 1 Thessalonians 1:3 Our ancestors lived by this scripture and put it to use in daily life. Organic “Waste” Composting: A Random Local Update

by Sheree At RPI, there are at least two food “waste” projects. One is a prototype small methane digester. The other is a dumpster composter, which digests its load in 7 days. Unfortunately, hardly anyone seems to want the compost, which they have been giving away free. It would be ideal if a farmer picked up the material and composted it on site. As of 2009, Sodexho at RPI was going to try to compost campus food “waste” but I…

The Pine Bush and Bombs — A Correction

In our last newsletter, I wrote a short piece in which I mistakenly said that William Shakespeare, in Julius Caesar, 1599, wrote the following: “Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. .. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and…
